How is everyone?
It sounds like it has been an intense week back home with Lone Peak taking it to Bingham (nice hit Brody), Todd getting in a fight at the BYU game. Ha-ha! I didn’t think you had it in you. But it’s about time someone said something to that guy. (Gosh I can just hear his voice in my head. Wow!) At least BYU didn’t lose to Utah State again like last year. It also sounds like there has been some down times.
If there is one thing that I have learned on my mission it is this: THERE MUST BE OPPOSITION IN ALL THINGS.
2 NE 2:11 says “For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things. If not so, my first-born in the wilderness, righteousness could not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor misery, neither good nor bad. Wherefore, all things must needs be a compound in one; wherefore, if it should be one body it must needs remain as dead, having no life neither death, nor corruption nor incorruption, happiness nor misery, neither sense nor insensibility.”
I have had some very good experiences while serving a mission but I have also had many bad experiences well not necessarily bad, but just down times. During the down times, or the sad times, all I want to do is delete it out of my mind and skip to the better times. But if we didn’t ever experience the down times then we would have no appreciation for the good times. If we didn’t feel sadness and sorrow how would we ever know what happiness or joy felt like. Opposition isn’t always what we want but it allows us an opportunity to grow and get stronger. Sometimes the Gardner cuts us down so he can make us into what we ought to be which is not always what we want to be.
Our Heavenly Father's plan is perfect. It is exactly what it should be for us to become like him. His purpose is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. In order for that to happen, we must be tried in all things. Not because God wants to see us suffer, but He wants us to rely on his help to get us through all things.
Matt 19:26 says “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”
I just want everyone to know how much I love them, especially Aunt Rialeen and the Peck family. I love you guys! I want to say that our Father in Heaven knows all us one by one and He has a plan for each of us. As we strive to be perfect even as he is perfect even in hard times, by his grace he will pull through for us. I know this to be true! My love for the scriptures is growing more and more. The plan of salvation has never been so real to me. We are ever so blessed to be in the true church. With the true gospel we have the ability to understand the purpose of life, to understand that there really is more to life than what the world can possibly give us. I know that we live to die, and we die so we can live again!
Luke 1:37 “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”
Nothing is impossible when Heavenly Father is on our side. He loves us too much!

Doctrine and Covenants 130:18-21
18 Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection.
19 An if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come.
20 There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated-
21 And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated.
