Doctrine and Covenants 130:18-21

Doctrine and Covenants 130:18-21
18 Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection.
19 An if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come.
20 There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated-
21 And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated.

November 15, 2010 Another Great Letter!

This week we had our baptism on thursday, so we spend all of wednesday
reveiwing everything we have taught the 6 investgators. We went to
Nkawkaw (bubble gum land) as usuall on tuesday and had a great day
there, we committed one more investigator to be baptised on the 27. On
thursday one of girls didnt show up to the baptism so we only had 5
that got baptised. I was requested by all 5 to basptise them. Not a
greater experince in the world then that was on thursday, not just
because i got to baptise them but because i helped them take the frist
steps in coming unto christ. we started out with all of them on
faith, and how to deveolp faith in Jesus. We taught them that faith
leads to action, if you have faith in Jesus Christ then you will WANT
to follow his example and do everything you can to get back to him
some day. One of those things that you have to want to do is to be
basptised in the name of Jesus Christ. But my heart aches for stella
because she changed her mind about joining Jesus christ chuch. No
effort is wasted though, and hopefully some day she will come around,
and do what is right for her.
On friday me, my comp, elder hicks, and elder domnic with the Terry's
headed to Accra, after the 5 hour trip we made it there about 5pm.
sister smith made us pancakes! nothing has ever tasted so good in my
life. i felt right at home! i got to hang out with the AP's and they
showed my around the mission home, i hope that some day i will live in
the mission home, they have a washer and dryer. Elder Rich from af,
serves around the mission home, so he gets to stay there. So i got to
talk to him, and he is doing good! but i got to see how much different
it is to serve out in the bush where i am, i think that they have is
pretty easy in the city. Saturday we went to the temple, the temple
was unreal as always! i bought the conference magizine, i read the
whole thing this morning, conference was so great, i cant wait for the
next one!
This week i had two near death experinces.. the first was on wednesday
when we were at a FM (free meal) as usuall it was fufu but with a
little different soup and meat.. it is usually fish but this time it
was snail... when i bit in to that snail.. i saw the "light" and i was
running to it, but i got rejected and i didnt pass over to the other
side. the other was last night, fufu again but with beef.. well i
thought it looked like beef, it didnt taste like beef.. but after i
asked what was in the soup and i am pretty sure she said knee cap... i
dont know if that is twi for beef... but i almost threw up and died
right there.
Transfers end this week, so we will see where i will be at next
wednesday. i think that i will still be out here, but my dad is
probably leaving me. so hopefully i can learn the area really good
this week!
Everything is going well i love you all keep praying for me!
love elder berry
