Doctrine and Covenants 130:18-21

Doctrine and Covenants 130:18-21
18 Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection.
19 An if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come.
20 There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated-
21 And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated.

Email from Emmanuel Lartey

Brother Berry,

Elder Berry in Ghana is making me home sick and got quite a kick out of his letter.  Being a Ghanaian and having lived in Utah for the past 25 years, I believe he's having the best cultural shock of his life.  Where else can you go to get knee caps in your soup?  LOL.  I think it is pig feet he is referring to.  By the way, if you've never seen an African Snail, attached is a picture of one I took when I was home 3 months ago.

I hope Elder Berry enjoy every moment of his mission including all the unique and possibly strange Ghanaian nuiances.  He is the envy of many missionaries throughout the world.  My prayers are with him as with all the missionaries in the Church.

Kindest Regards
Emmanuel Sr.
